Dude, where's my hire car?

Question: What's worse that having your car towed away by traffic wardens?

Answer: Having a car you've hired towed away. From right outside your front door. When it's due back in an hour.

Not good people, not good. In the end I did retreive the car and had it back with the rental company in time, no thanks to the ignorant fool I spoke to the first time I phoned the local council.

Sadly, the combined cost of the parking ticket and the "release fee" were more than the long-weekend rental cost of the car itself. I also think I lost 5 years of my life when I first looked out of the bedroom window and saw an empty space where a silver Peugeot should have been...
